“If you cannot teach me to fly, teach me to sing.” –Sir James Barrie

I believe that music is one of the most important ways that we can give people a voice. As a performer, I believe that musicality is the best form of self-expression, and therefore, as a teacher, I strive to teach my students how to play musically and help them find their own voice as a musician. Even if my students do not grow up to become professional musicians, music can enrich their lives in so many other ways beyond earning a living from it, whether it helps their mental health, improves their grades in school, or just gives them an outlet to get together with others and have fun. If a student does wish to make music a career, however, I will do everything in my power to give that student the tools they need to become a professional musician and follow them on their journey towards success.

In addition to musical playing, I try to give all of my students the technical foundation they need to become the best they can be. I listen to them carefully to troubleshoot potential problems in their playing and work with them to find solutions that help them overcome these challenges, a process which is highly rewarding for both me and my student!

I currently have 4 students through the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra's outreach program, Orchkids, but I am always looking to get more students!
